At the tail end of 2021, Popeye (Farside) uprooted his entire life to move across the country to the city of Scranton, PA, where he would eventually come to meet the rest of his new band, Calling Hours: guitarists Thomas McGrath (The Commercials) and Tony Bavaria (The Commercials), bassist Garrett Rothman (Don't Sleep), and drummer Jim Bedorf (Don't Sleep). For Brian McTernan, a celebrated producer with a nearly 30-year history of shaping some of the biggest hardcore records of all time - including albums for Hot Water Music, Turnstile, Circa Survive, And Thrice - advancing Calling Hours from the idea stage to the recording stage was personal. The outcome of that collaboration is "Say Less," a seven-song record for Revelation Records that revisits the band members' melodic, post-punk sensibilities while working in a decidedly contemporary direction.

Cardboard and aluminum. Trying to put it back together again. A storm is coming, but the glue has all run dry. Run and hide from the ghosts and demons that might live inside. Inside your mind. Disconnected. Resurrected. Every thought behind these eyes wishes I did not exist. There's nothing in the payload. I'm a champion of sleep with no finish line, but sad songs say so much. Choose another stream, worse than it may see , and drown. And drown. Cardboard and aluminum. There's not enough glue in this world to mend. A storm has risen, or so we're told. Run and hide from the ghosts and demons that spoke all those lies. Inside your mind. Disconnected. Resurrected. Every thought behind my eyes wishes I did not exist. There's nothing on the backend. I'm a champion of sleep with no finish line, but sad songs say so much. Choose another stream, worse than it may seem. Nothing is in doubt, but everything is doubtful and hurtful. Nothing's ever wrong, but everything is wrongful and spiteful. (Oooooooooh) Every thought behind these eyes wishes I did not exist. I wish you could forgive me. I'm a champion of sleep with no finish line, but sad songs say so much. Choose another stream, worse than it may seem, and drown. And drown.

Curtain Call 02:50
You glide through the hallway like there ain't no walls. You steal all the light and take no curtain calls. It’s such a scene, like frames on a screen. And the celluloid can be so mean. You roll out the barrel when it’s time for fun. You keep me in line and keep me on the run. Don’t tear me down, I know I’m just a clown. But I want my heart on your crown. So save it all for me. The highs, the lows, the in-between. Yeah, save it all for me. Because you just might be the best part. You live like no one I’ve ever seen before. A wink and a smile when you close the door. Keep it lean, like stitches on a seam. But there’s no getting rid of me. My heart skips a beat when I’m in your space. I stop in my tracks when I see your face. Hear me out, I get that you’re in doubt. But I swear I meant those vows. Yeah, I swear that I meant all those vows. So save it all for me. The best, the worst, the in-between. Yeah, save it all for me. Because you just might be the best part. Yeah, save it all for me. The lies, the cravings, the instant savings. Save it all for me. Because you just might be the best part of being me. The best part, the best part of being me. Save it all for me. The highs, the lows, the in-between. Yeah, save it all for me. Because you just might be the best part. Yeah, save it all for me. The best, the worst, the in-between. Yeah, save it all for me. Because you just might be the best part.

Gin Perry 03:03
Please, please don't do that again. Because I won't know where to begin. There's a struggle every weekend. And when the lights are up, the light is gone. Ooh, there's a kerfuffle in the bedroom. There's a carcass chilling in the yard. Hey, another package on the doorstep. So let's trash the family car. It's the same old song but it gets you where you're going. Takes you where you want to be now. It's the same old song but it gets you where you're going. So tell me who you want to be now. Right now. Please, please don't say that again. Save your breath until I count to 10. You treat me like a was a kingpin. But when the chips are down, the chips are gone. Ooh, there's nothing brewing in the kitchen. But there's something stewing on the stove. Yeah, I know that nothing's gonna happen. So let's burn this treasure trove. Come on. Come on. Come on. It's all gone wrong. It's the same old song but it gets you where you're going. Takes you where you want to be now. It's the same old song. So tell me who you want to be now. It's the same old song but it gets you where you're going. Takes you where you want to be now. It's the same old song. So tell me who you want to be now. Right now. Nothing's different but it's on the mend. So take a dip in the deep end. Nothing's different but it's on the mend. So take a dip in the deep end. It's the same old song but it gets you where you're going. Takes you where you want to be now. It's the same old song. So tell me who you want to be now. It's the same old song but it gets you where you're going. Takes you where you want to be now. It's the same old song. So tell me who you want to be now. Right now.

Ease up on the feelings, the dealings, alright. Ease up on the back end, the quick mend, alright. Calm down with the statements, the payments, alright. Calm down with the timing, the pining, alright. Don’t ignore the consequences. Suck it up and mend those fences. Take these words, please. Give me some memories. Take these words, please. And do something that’ll make you bleed. Pull back on the throttle, the bottles, alright. Pull back from your worst friends, the dead ends, alright. Back off from the voices, the noises, alright. Back off from the puppet show, it’s no Pass and Stow to cast. Don’t ignore the consequences. Suck it up and mend those fences. Take these words, please. Give me some memories. Take these words, please. And do something that’ll make you bleed. I keep piling on to my armor, but I’m no charmer. And I know I’ll run out of defenses. Take these words, please. Give me some memories. Take these words, please. And do something that’ll make you bleed.

No rain, no sun, no food, and no fun. Eight balls come and go but I’m still in your pocket. So get up, and get right. I’ll be ready when you pick that fight. I don’t want to know what you’re thinking about right now. Stow your pride and put on something pretty. I’ll tow that line, despite the growls and hissing. Trade in my sunscreen for a different dream. Trade in my sunscreen for a different dream. Trade in my sunscreen for a different dream. Go cash that check and let’s get wrecked. Because I’m tired of messing around. No words, no love, it’s cold, but no gloves. Heartaches come and go but I’m still in your locket. So get bent, and get dumb. I’ll be ready when you’re almost numb. You don’t want to know what I’m thinking about right now. Of messing around. They say that bad things come to those who hate. So stop hating on your life, and pull out your biggest knife. My heart’s a brick when your eyes get thick. We’re dancing in the rain, but the pain remains. We’re dancing in the rain, but the pain remains. We’re dancing in the rain, but the pain remains. We’re dancing in the rain, but the pain remains. (Stow your pride. Stow your pride.) (I’ll tow that line. I’ll tow that line.)

Heavy Future 03:13
What's with the crying? What's with the lying? What's with the breakdown? What's with the shakedown? You won't mind, so I won't care. Do it on a dare What did I do this time? How can I make this right? You'll get your happiness as soon as I get mine. I hate it when you're gone, because I'm not that strong. You'll get your happiness as soon as I get mine. You'll get your happiness in time. What's with the drinking? And what's with all the thinking? What's with all the smoking? I wish that you were choking. You won't mind, so I won't care. You’re not playing fair. What can I do this time? I cannot make this right. You'll get your happiness as soon as I get mine. So let's begin again. I'll pour another gin. You'll get your happiness as soon as I get mine. You'll get your happiness in time. So rave on. And sail on. And I might be here when you're ready. Rave on. And get gone. And if you're lucky I'll be here when you get back. Come back. Back to when it mattered. Come back. Before it all got shattered. Come back. Back to when it mattered. Come back. Before it all got shattered. You won't mind, so I won't care. Drowning in despair. What can I do this time? I cannot make this right. You'll get your happiness as soon as I get mine. So let's begin again. I'll pour another gin. You'll get your happiness as soon as I get mine. You'll get your happiness in time. You'll get your happiness in time. You'll get your happiness in time.
